Birmingham Mind are a leading provider of mental health services in Birmingham and the
West Midlands. We offer high quality services that support both recovery and wellbeing
and we actively work with people so that they can be in control of their lives. With respect
for the individual at the forefront of all the work we do, Birmingham Mind has a well-
earned reputation for excelling in quality.
With over 50 years' experience of supporting people with mental health difficulties within
our local community: we always strive to challenge the stigma that surrounds mental
distress.
We are looking for a Recovery Navigator to work in partnership with people experiencing
mental health difficulties who are currently residing in non-acute in-patient care. You will
deliver a person centred recovery approach, in groups or on an individual basis, that
focuses on developing, maintaining and strengthening their skills and abilities. Ultimately
you will support service users to attain independence in daily living skills in agreement
with their individual needs and personal plans, achieving successful outcomes and
promoting moving on.
We are looking for a mental health professional with experience of assessing and
constructing care plans that support people to be in control of their lives. Ideally you will
be QCF/NVQ level 3 qualified or have a willingness to work towards this qualification. It is
essential that you have an empathy for people experiencing mental health issues and are
committed to service user involvement and empowerment. You will have a good
understanding of equal opportunities, confidentiality, safeguarding and health & safety.
You will be a team player who is also confident when lone working and flexible in your
approach to your working hours. You will possess excellent written, verbal and IT skills
that equip you to carry out administrative tasks and compile reports.
Experience of dispensing medication and a valid driving licence would be desirable but not
essential.
Our people are key to the success of the organisation and we are recognised as both a
Mindful Employer as well as achieving Gold standard success in Investors in People. We
welcome applications from people who have experienced mental health difficulties.
