GDPR & Data Protection Manager
West Midland
£500 - £550 per day

The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the Group's preparations for the incoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and providing ad hoc data protection subject matter expertise on data protection matters as required.

Key Relationships

* GDPR Project Manager Reporting line & support
* Data Protection Officer Reporting line & support
* GDPR Project Manager Partnering in providing subject matter expertise on GDPR related changes to operational processes and controls and wider data protection matters
* Compliance & Internal Audit functions Compliance & Internal Audit functions Liaison on the management data protection risks and sharing of associated findings and observations
* Senior business and functional stakeholders Various Provision of trusted advice on the design and implementation of GDPR related changes to operational processes and controls

* Business Continuity Planning: To ensure that operational BCP processes are maintained and updated to a standard suitable for recovery of the departmental functionality to the level of that prior to the occurrence of the BCP event.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competence

* Externally recognised relevant professional/industry certification and membership (i.e. PC.dp).
* Must have relevant experience gained in a data protection related role and proven track record especially within a regulated industry sector.
* Experience of change and implementation of developments.
* Excellent understanding of relevant legislation, standards and frameworks with regard to data protection.
* Strong delivery focus and organisational/project management skills to coordinate and deliver plans to agreed timescales.
* Exemplary relationship management skills and knowledge.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, including influencing, negotiation, presentation and report writing.
* Strong understanding of risk management practices and their application. Ability to identify emerging risk issues and to drive understanding and management.
* Ability to inspire trust, influence others, promote collaboration and motivate.
* Ability to succeed in an influence based role.
* High degree of self-motivation, self-discipline and enthusiasm to succeed.
* Good IT skills including Word, excel and PowerPoint.
